Book Waiting Ticket: The Unbooked Journey

In 2017, a village boy,

Intrigue by academic joy.

A merit seat at IGNTU Amarkantak’s door,

Beyond the state I’d never left before.

A Boro friend online @fb advised my ride:

“Book waiting list ticket” he replied.In innocence, language tricked my mind;

I thought it meant to wait and buy later.A naive gamble, a fearless choice I made;

To wait until Bodoland, unafraid.I took the Lamka Bus @Blue Hills Parking,

To Bodoland, into a world unknown.

“Where is your ticket?” my friend asked that night.

I smiled: “I waited, as you said I might.”

He froze, taken aback by my mistake;

The absurd, blind risk I dared to take.

Yet kindness conquered his surprise;

He saw the village hope within my eyes.

At dawn, he led me to the Tatkal line;

Fortune leaned down, and a seat was mine.

From Lamka’s green hills to tracks of Amarkantak,

I marvel at the luck I still can feel.

An innocent risk-taker, blessed by fate,

Who crossed a border through a lucky gate.
